BioErin D. LaBarre is a senior staff engineer whose research activities include materials characterization, prototyping, and systems testing and evaluation and independent verification and validation. Her recent project work has included development, evaluation, and integration of multifunctional materials for hypersonic apertures/seekers; leading the development of novel, durable anti-icing coatings; characterization of anti-climb paint; prototyping novel, lightweight structures; testing and evaluation of novel biometric systems; design, characterization, and prototype development of multifunctional human tissue surrogates; development of verification and validation procedures; and specification development for anti-climb paint and naval fiber-optic and electrical connectors with alternative finishes. Her areas of expertise include high-temperature materials, biometrics, materials characterization, and multifunctional coatings.
