Air Force Secretary Kendall Visits Johns Hopkins APL
On Aug. 24, Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall and Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Andrew Hunter met with APL leaders and experts across a range of domains — and capped their visit by thanking APL Air Force veterans for their service.

Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall and Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Andrew Hunter visited the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) on Aug. 24.
The secretary and assistant secretary visited some of APL’s state-of-the-art research facilities and met with APL experts across a wide variety of national security domains, including strategic systems, intelligent air combat capabilities, air and missile defense and national security space systems.
APL Director Ralph Semmel also provided an overview of the Laboratory’s 80-plus years of history as a trusted research, engineering, prototyping and analysis resource focused on the nation’s most complex defense, space exploration and scientific challenges.
Secretary Kendall and Assistant Secretary Hunter capped the visit by meeting with APL Air Force veterans and thanking them for their service.
