BioHeather C. Green is the operations executive for the Security Services Department at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). In this role, she leads the business and administrative functions for the department, overseeing process optimization, fostering collaboration, and supporting long-term strategic initiatives. Ms. Green has nearly three decades of experience in senior leadership roles and has made transformative contributions to the field of security operations. Prior to joining APL, she was the principal deputy assistant director of vetting risk operations and consolidated adjudication services for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), where she oversaw critical programs such as the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), the Continuous Vetting program for the federal workforce, and a suite of programs that manage security clearance actions and mitigate personnel security risks. Ms. Green earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a master’s degree in security management from George Washington University.
