BioLisa Blodgett leads the Force Projection Sector at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), overseeing programs that ensure force access, enable decisive power projection, and strengthen national deterrence capabilities. Her portfolio includes the Sea Control, Precision Strike, and Strategic Deterrence mission areas. Under her leadership, APL has advanced autonomy for air combat and sea control, accelerated hypersonic weapon development, and pioneered long-range fires capabilities. Prior to her current role, Ms. Blodgett served as the mission area executive for Sea Control. She holds leadership positions across the national security landscape, including serving on the executive committee for the Submarine Technology Symposium, as an Advisory Council member for the National Defense Industrial Association, and on the Oak Ridge National Laboratory National Security Sciences Strategic Advisory Board. She was previously on the board of directors of the Naval Submarine League and served on a Defense Science Board Task Force. Ms. Blodgett is a member of the U.S. Strategic Command Strategic Advisory Group, where she chairs the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications Task Force. She is also a graduate of MIT Seminar XXI and Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in National and International Security program. She holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue University as well as M.S. degrees in electrical and computer engineering and technical management from Johns Hopkins University.
